272Heroes meet

Let me say straight away, if you haven’t heard of 272heroes get over to http://www.272heroes.com to meet some awesome people and some epic cars. Right onwards, many people say that cars in the UK are not up to spec with cars over in the US and other parts of the world, the guys on the forum at 272Heroes are proving everyone who thinks that wrong! This was my first experience with these guys and was cool to meet some awesome people who really do love their cars and that is what i’m all about. I was expecting a smallish group of people with a couple of cool cars dotted here and there but what i got was a car park full of EPIC cars! These guys know how to do a car meet…..

Firstly i’m going to kick this off with a RWD corsa, yep you heard that right!

This ford focus looked all kinds of mental. Awesome paint.

 BGW for the win
Was loving the old school on display

Soo much love for this silvia.

This well fitted s13 was sitting so pretty

And definitely not forgotten, Daze’s drift spec s13

What a cracking night. Great guys. Great cars. Great site. http://www.272heroes.com

Simple but affective

I remember a friend telling me about this car when i was first getting into vdubs. “Slammed golf on air ride” now that i had to see. Driving down the road you could spot it from a mile off. A blue golf absolutely decked on chrome wheels and sparkling clean. Its come a long way since that first time i saw it and its developed into something quite special. A car that stands out at first but its not until you get quite close to it till you see the real detail behind it. Finally after months of discussion i managed to get the owner out for a shoot..
It’s no longer running air ride due to a few problems with it, he kinda lost faith and realised that really static is so much cooler.
He has a miltek exhaust fitted which provides a nice rumble on turnover but doesn’t bellow through a car park. He also has US spec rear bumpers and a smaller VW badge fitted.

Some of the little details include having a 4motion front and rear valance, lupo mirrors, heko wind deflectors and full leather interior including some lovely s3 seats.
The wheels are 19″ BMX x5. They are 9j upfront and 10j out back with 20mm spacers all around. All arches rolled and smooth.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the future has for this car and to see it develop even further through the years as i’m sure he doesn’t have the heart to let it go.

Krispy Kreme Goodness

I got a text from a dubber i know telling me about a “little” meet that was going down at Krispy Kreme North Harbour. As with all things this “little” meet had a great turn out, and actually had more cars turn out then the properly planned meets. Lots of friendly faces and some very cool rides. Ill let the pictures do the talking…

History X

Most people who like cars and owned a car will know that over time a car becomes more than just a big heap of metal and rubber it takes form into something you weren’t expecting at first. In a way it becomes a companion, someone who is there when others are not. People grow to love there cars, I’m not talking about the 9 year old kids looking at a Lamborghini on a poster, far from that. Im talking about the people who when they park their car they look back at it as their walking away and it brings a smile to their face.  For me that car was the car above.  She was a 1992 Volkswagen Polo called “Thumper.” why the name? well the first night i owned wasn’t the most successful, she just wouldn’t run properly she was bouncing all over the place. Hence the name. This car to me was so much more than a car, this car helped build the friendships i’ve had and lost, she gave me a true passion for cars id never had before. She changed me from that 9 year old looking at posters to the true blooded petrol head i am today. There were days when i hated the car, and days i didn’t even want to get in the car however them days are soon forgotten and just leave the memories that do matter: The sunshine, the seaside, the friends, the cars.  So why is this car the opening post for the site? well, in a way she was the thing that made me develop the site. About 2 months ago i had my driving license revoked. I had no one else to blame but myself for this, i was stupid, i wasn’t thinking and I messed up. The worst part was having to sell Thumper because i wasn’t prepared to leave her on the drive not being driven. She deserved to be driven and to be shown off and well it was time for me to move on. She had set the path and losing her inspired me to change the way i think and act around cars now. I will be driving again soon and i will have a new car however i have this feeling nothing will ever compare to the feeling that Thumper gave me. Some people wont understand the feeling cars give me however some people will and this site is for them, and for that i have to thank the little Volkswagen because without that little car I wouldn’t be doing what i am today and I would have the passion i have today.  Slanced created truly by Thumper.
